Antisocial behaviour in the Sainsbury’s car park Knaphill, Woking

by admin on 12 August, 2009

Taking onboard concerns from local residents about the number of cars and young people congregating in the Sainsbury’s car park at night and having spoken with local police officers I wrote to Sainsbury’s seeking to find out what their view on the situation is and the actions they plan to take.

A copy of the letter can be found here. Letter to Sainsbury’s about antisocial behaviour

Since I wrote the letter I have had an email reply from Peter Smith the store manager stating that he is pursuing gates for the store card park.  This will mean a new bus shelter on Redding way so that buses can still pick people up and drop people off when the gates are closed.  I understand from Peter that Arriva have agreed to this.  It is now a matter of planning permission from the council.  I will work with the council to ensure a good location can be found, as the sooner the gates are fitted the sooner the car park will be quiet in the evenings.
