Former Liberal Democrat Councillor for Knaphill Learn more
by admin on 31 May, 2010
It was good to get back on the street again after the election on Saturday. Diana Smith and I held the monthly Knaphill street surgery in the High Street between 10.30 am and 11.15 am.
The number one issue that came up was litter on our streets. I have passed these concerns along with specific details to our neighbourhood officer in Knaphill. One way we could really improve the cleanliness of our streets would be to make better use of the volunteering teams available through WAVS, but at present I am not sure that the Council has the capacity to manage projects like this. Sounds like a good job for a white collar apprentice to me.
I have also raised my concerns to council officers about the state of the grass that was re-seeded by the utility company storing equipment on Victoria Road green last year as I think that it needs to be re-done properly.
