Richard Sharp the best candidate for Knaphill

by admin on 29 April, 2010

I have worked alongside Richard Sharp over the last two years and it is clear to me that he is a considerable asset to both Knaphill and Woking. I urge the residents of Knaphill to look at his record of action and re-elect Richard to enable him to continue his dedicated work for the local community.

Richard has been a borough councillor for Knaphill since 2006. He is now the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat council group. Before standing as a councillor Richard was the Secretary of the Residents’ Association and is passionate about Knaphill.

As a past chairman of the Overview & Scrutiny Committee and a Shadow Portfolio Holder for Planning, Richard has a reputation for detailed scrutiny of council proposals and policies and has helped introduce comprehensive reporting on council projects to make sure that timescales are met, costs are contained and risks are minimised.

Richard works hard to help resolve problems for residents. He has lived in Knaphill since 2000, works full-time in the software industry and is happily married. Richard focuses on securing a better future for residents through work on development and planning policy and chairs the member’s panel that is overseeing the flood alleviation and development plans for Hoe Valley.

Richard SharpRichard promises that he will fight for improved youth facilities as a condition of any development of the main Brookwood Farm site and will demand that the housing is designed to integrate with the local community. Richard has spent four years developing his knowledge of planning and development projects to ensure he can fight for the best design for any housing scheme at Brookwood Farm.
